The notaire draws up all the deeds proving the rights and status of the heirs.
Vested with the public authority of the State, the notaire is in contact with all the parties (tax office, courts,…). As a public officer, the notaire is also liable and has to provide a complete file with all the legal documents such as identification and civil status certificates to legally establish the identity of the heir and justify the rights to inherit.
Our company is the main point of contact between the heirs and the notaire.
Our interest and yours are linked, and we only get paid if we are successful. We will always act diligently in your best interest. You will never have to pay for anything.
The objective is to sell the property at the best price for the heirs according to the legal rules set out in the French Civil Code.
Heirs or their legal representatives have 6 months to submit the declaration to the French tax office. When a probate research company is mandated, we can negotiate an extension avoiding penalties on the estate.
Inheritance taxes can vary as they depend on the degree of kinship.
Upon all heirs’ approval, our probate researcher sends the certified family tree together with the civil status documents and powers of attorney to the notaire in charge of the settlement of the estate.
Once we have identified potential heirs we sign off a fee agreement to secure your rights and represent you through the entire process, meaning that as an heir you will never have to pay anything and to travel far away to get the inheritance.
